Almost 20 years of wearing earplugs – Mack’s Slim Fit are the best I’ve used

Published 2026-9-26

The standard foam earplugs of various brands I formerly used (including store brands and Mack’s) sometimes hurt my ears, to the point of causing scabs, which I originally attributed to the material, so I switched to 3M Ear Classic, which worked well for a while but then started making popping sounds during use after several months.

Noticing that the slim-fit iMeBoBo earplugs I originally gave to my girlfriend (but she didn’t use) worked well, I then switched to this much more widely available product, Mack’s Slim Fit, which seem to have the softness and comfort of the 3Ms and iMeBoBos, and did not hurt my ears like standard foam earplugs did. The fit is great and the sound insulation is super.

I don’t know if it’s because my ears are actually more suited to slim fits, but whatever the case, after almost 20 years of wearing earplugs (I think I started wearing earplugs around 2009), I’m glad my journey has finally led me to the Mack’s Slim Fit, the best earplugs I’ve ever used.
